I have a forum website where people can make an account. Often, I find people putting wrong email addresses, on purpose or not. Is it possible to check if the email is correct when they sign up? Like, to be sure it's a real email, not fake?

Yes, it's easily doable using a real-time email validation service like Clearout. You can check the email as the user is filling up the signup form.
