High Bounce Rate on MailChimp - Seeking Advice

Hello everyone,

I've been building an email list over the years and have collected thousands of email addresses. However, I haven't been actively sending emails to this list until recently. When I decided to launch an email campaign through MailChimp, I encountered a high volume of bouncebacks.

I'm concerned that continuing to send emails might lead to my account being suspended. Can anyone provide guidance on how to address this issue?

To help with the bounce email, I'd recommend cleaning your list using an email verification service to remove invalid addresses. You can also send a small re-engagement campaign to inactive subscribers, asking if they'd still like to hear from you. Start with a smaller segment of your list, targeting your most active users, and gradually increase the volume. Keep an eye on bounce rates and remove any hard bounces to protect your account. This should improve your deliverability and avoid any potential suspensions.

People change emails all the time or they leave organizations. Hence, it is advisable to always clean your mailing list before every email campaign.

You can easily do this with the MailboxValidator MailChimp integration.

It sounds like many of the emails on your list might have become invalid over time, which is why you're seeing so many bouncebacks. Continuing to send emails to these addresses could negatively impact your sender reputation and, as you mentioned, could lead to account suspension.

I recommend using Clearout, an email verification tool that helps clean your list by identifying invalid, risky, and outdated email addresses. This will improve your email deliverability and reduce the risk of future bouncebacks. It integrates seamlessly with MailChimp too! here is the documentation for integrating.
